“The people who help us grow toward true self offer unconditional love, neither judging us to be deficient nor trying to force us to change but accepting us exactly as we are. And yet this unconditional love does not lead us to rest on our laurels. Instead, it surrounds us with a charged force field that makes us want to grow from the inside out — a force field that is safe enough to take the risks and endure the failures that growth requires.” ― Parker J. Palmer

Our bodies need regular washing because we get dirty everyday. But so do our hearts! Because each day, people hurt us, offend us, forget us, snub us, step on us, reject us. But if we choose to forgive everyone everyday, we cleanse our hearts! We wake up the next morning refreshed and pure and lovely!” ― Bo Sánchez
Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress.” ~Melody Beattie
“Unless we do something with our dreams, we will not dream well. This is indigenous wisdom, understood by all of our ancestors when they lived in cultures that valued dreams and the dreamer. As my friends of the Six Nations tell it, soul speaks to us in dreams, showing us what it desires. If we do not take action to honor such dreams, soul becomes disgusted with us and withdraws its energy and vitality from our lives.”

All of us have to learn how to invent our lives, make them up, imagine them. We need to be taught these skills; we need guides to show us how. If we don’t, our lives get made up for us by other people.
When we sit, we open our own treasure house. Rather than do this, however; most of us first seek to find the treasures another person can provide. We calculate their value to us. When we approach relationships in this manner, we are coming as beggars; seeing the other as a source of supply. When we can enter a relationship with our treasure house already open, there is no end to the wonders we can find; both within and between ourselves and another.
Sorcerers maintain that talking about ourselves makes us accessible and weak, while learning how to be quiet fills us with power. A principle of the path of knowledge is to turn your own life into something so unpredictable that not even you yourself knows what’s going to happen.
Achieving Inner Peace
In the hectic lifestyle of today, it has become an utmost necessity for us to achieve a sense of inner peace. To achieve a sense of calmness and serenity is actually not that difficult. All you need to do is make some time. Let us take it one day at a time.
Step 1 would be to begin by taking the time out to caring for yourself. One needs to take out the time to soothe and quieten your mind. Take the time to just sit quietly and replenish your spirit. You can find a comfortable spot to unwind and relax. Free yourself from your stress and worries. Maybe learn to meditate. Meditation is a helpful way to not just focus on your spiritual wellbeing, but also an excellent way to ease anxiety and stress that often hinders our inner peace.
Step 2 in the process involves simplifying our lives. We can easily achieve inner peace if we start keeping everything simple. You do not need to everything at once. Slow down, you are not running a race. Take your time and allow yourself the benefit of time.
This brings us to Step 3…Taking your time. Inner peace cannot be achieved in one day. It is a process, an experience. It is a personal journey and cannot be achieved overnight. Take your time to experience the process and do not get disheartened if the process takes a while. This is especially true if you are recovering from mental or emotional trauma. Experience the process of healing.
Develop a peaceful perspective towards live and with time, you will notice certain changes that will help you feel more at peace with yourself.
Remember, you are a work in progress and you are always changing and every change is beautiful, no matter what. Inner peace is a state of mind, so relax and remind yourself of how valuable you truly are.
